Organizations
Drama Club
Drama Club is the official title of the large student organization that manages everything theatre-related at George. Drama Club is in charge of the special productions that happen outside the regular theatre season, as well as coordinating aspects of the regular season that do not fall within the jurisdiction of the shows' production staff or the Performing Arts Department at George. Drama also takes care of community outreach for GW's theatre program and keeping up interest in theatre at George. Drama Club does all this by putting on numerous exciting events throughout the year, designed to make our theatre family bigger and closer!
[panda]MONIUM!
[panda]MONIUM! is GW's very own improvisational theatre troupe, creating on-the-spot performances for the George community for several years. [panda]MONIUM! is responsible for George Drama's monthly Improv [p]M! show, as well as occasional shows for other organizations and happenings around the school and its environs.
Thespian Society Troupe #1621
The Patriot Players are proud to have their very own chapter of the International Thespian Society, the high school theatre honor society. Thespians are those students who have shown a consistent dedication to excellence in theatre in high school. At GW, budding theatre students will be assigned a Thespian to mentor them in their journey, and that Thespian will initiate the student into the Troupe after a certain number of theatre hours (in at least two different areas of theatre arts) have been completed. Thespians and initiates have a number of bonding events throughout the year, as well as thespian-only events (to be discussed at thespian meetings). Thespian Society also organizes the GW delegation to the State Thespian Conference in December, as well as hosting Thespian Showcases onstage at George. |
